About Kurt Schram

Kurt Schram is the founder of Montana Commercial Advisors and a real estate advisor shaped by decades of real-world ownership, operations, capital markets, and public-sector experience. His career began in industrial real estate brokerage in Los Angeles and grew through operating and selling multiple resort-market businesses, consulting hundreds of companies with UPS and UPS Capital, owning multifamily and commercial properties across several states, and serving as a Planning and Zoning Commissioner involved in rewriting Gunnison, Colorado’s master plan and big-box standards.

He has lived and worked in Gunnison and Crested Butte, Colorado; Bend, Oregon; Gig Harbor, Washington; Los Angeles, California; Tulsa, Oklahoma; and Whitefish, Montana, giving him practical understanding of resort economies, logistics markets, and small-town growth dynamics.

Most recently, Kurt built Whitefish Outfitters into the largest outfitter in Whitefish—serving roughly 10,000 clients annually, earning Best Outfitter honors from the Whitefish Pilot, and achieving the Flathead Valley’s top transportation ranking on TripAdvisor—before successfully selling Whitefish Outfitters & Tours and Whitefish Shuttle. He has also owned and managed multifamily and commercial properties in a half a dozen states.

Earlier in his career, Kurt owned a property management and real estate company in Gunnison and Crested Butte and served in management roles with UPS across three states, ultimately as a Senior Business Development Officer at UPS Capital advising companies on capital solutions, risk management, and growth strategy. During the Great Recession, he also managed one of the largest financial operations in Central Oregon by loan volume, working directly with business owners and investors through a period of historic credit stress and gaining firsthand insight into liquidity, lending discipline, and capital allocation under pressure.

Kurt lives near downtown Whitefish with his wife and their two sons. They enjoy cycling, trail running, hiking, skiing, and travel, and are proud to call Montana home.
